The King of Bugwere Cultural Institution, His Royal Highness, Ikumbania Geoffrey Wayabire has paid courtesy visit to the Office of the National Chairman of NRM (ONC) and rallied his subjects to embrace government programmes as part of the wealth creation drive aimed at fighting poverty among Ugandans.
The Ikumbania who was in company of the Deputy Prime Minister Kamugo Fred and
General Secretary, Mr Tom Mbulamberi, were Friday, November 10, welcomed by the ONC Manager, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye at the ONC offices in Kyambogo.
In his brief remarks, HM Wayabire thanked Hajjat Hadijah for the good servant leadership and work she’s doing in mobilizing the Bazzukulu and popularizing government programmes and activities among the youths to fight poverty.
He rallied the Bazzukulu in Bukedi to turn in big numbers at the ongoing Presidential tours and give the President a grand welcome in their respective areas.
“We thank you Hajjat and our beloved President, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the great work he’s doing for our country Uganda, and Bugwere in particular. I urge everyone, from the elderly to the youths, to come and engage in the preparations as we welcome the President in Bukedi region on his three day tour,” the Bugwere cultural leader said.
“This is a great moment for us to host the President, so each and everyone, please come and grace the function as we tell the President our pressing issues so that he can forge a way for us.”
On her part, Hajjat Hadijah urged the people of Bugwere to avoid differences amongst themselves and recognize the Inkumbania as their truly elected King despite a faction of opportunists fighting against his reign.
She added that in their closed door meeting, they discussed self-empowerment, a popular wealth creation drive by the drive and that they promised to work together in the eradication of poverty among the youths in Bugwere Kingdom.
“We discussed self-empowerment for the youths of Bugwere, and he (King) wants to know how best we can do it with him and the Kingdom. We will work with him to ensure that we eradicate poverty in that place and for the wellbeing of the youths,” Hajjat Hadijah remarked.
“He is a Museveni supporter, believes in self-empowerment, believes in the good governance of H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni however much the place is full opposition, but he is optimistic to see the empowerment reach the people of Bugweri,” the ONC Boss added.
Fresh from the meeting, the King and his Royals set off to Bugweri to join Ugandans in welcoming the President who is on a three-day tour supervising government programmes in the Eastern Uganda region, climaxing with a mega rally on Sunday, November 10 in Pallisa district.
