France’s Special Envoy for the Great Lakes, Mr. Emmanuel Cohet, visited Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba at the Special Forces headquarters in Entebbe.
He was joined by the French ambassador, HE Xavier Sticker, First Adviser Mrs. Janyce Obrecht, and Defence Attaché Lt. Col. Yann Chollet. The meeting underscored France’s commitment to strengthening regional security partnerships. Key discussions focused on collaboration between Uganda and France on defense and stability efforts in the Great Lakes region.
Gen Kainerugaba, who is also the Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations, and his guest acknowledged the longstanding bilateral and military cooperation between France and Uganda, pledging to continue working to strengthen their relationship.
The meeting was also attended by the Commander SFC, Maj Gen David Mugisha and other senior UPDF officers.
Uganda and France have a history of cooperation, collaborating diplomatically, militarily and economically. Dozens of French companies operate in Uganda, and French experts have been involved in training UPDF soldiers.
This visit marks another step in solidifying the Uganda-France partnership.
