President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the National Chairman of the NRM Friday met with the team from Kyambogo Office of the National Chairman (ONC), led by his Senior Presidential Advisor (SPA) Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye.
The meeting, held at State House Entebbe featured ONC Regional Coordinators and the technical staff from Kyambogo with the discussion focusing mainly on advancing the youth empowerment program and addressing various issues affecting young people in Uganda.
During the discussions, Jajja Kaguta Museveni appreciated ONC for doing a great in bringing back his bazzukulu to the mighty NRM party and emphasized the importance of empowering youth as a vital component of the nation’s development strategy.
The President and the ONC team explored several initiatives aimed at enhancing the skills and opportunities available to young Ugandans, thereby promoting self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
SPA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye highlighted the ONC’s ongoing efforts to implement innovative programs that provide training, mentorship, and support to young entrepreneurs across the country.
The Regional Coordinators also shared insights from their respective areas, bringing attention to the unique challenges and opportunities present in different regions.
H.E Museveni commended the ONC team for their dedication and urged them to continue working closely with local communities to ensure the success of these initiatives. He emphasized to the coordinators to stay focused and rally more Ugandans towards government programs such as PDM, Emyooga, and others as they have been doing.
The President reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting youth empowerment programs that align with the broader goals of national development.
He further assigned the coordinators to join the fight against corruption and asked the anti-corruption agencies in the country to work hand in hand with the ONC team because it has proven to yield good deeds in their service delivery.
The President also informed the ONC family that he is aware of the blackmail and party in-fights targeted towards his office and Hajjat Namyalo, branding her as a bad person to misguide the Bazzukulu and assured them that he is not in any way thinking of changing the leadership at the Kyambogo office.
Friday’s meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening collaboration between the ONC, local leaders, and various stakeholders to foster an environment conducive to youth empowerment and development.
