Moscow and Malabo are advancing discussions to strengthen bilateral agreements, particularly in defense.
This development emerged during a high-level meeting on November 21, between H.E. Nguema Obiang Mangue and Karen Chalyan, Russia’s Ambassador to Equatorial Guinea.
An audience that has constituted the first contact between the Moscow diplomat and the defence minister, since he presented his credentials 9 months ago.
In their conversations, the Equatoguinean Vice-President welcomed Chalyan, rejoicing that, after 30 years, a Russian Embassy in Equatorial Guinea is being reopened.
During the meeting, the two personalities discussed the implementation of the bilateral agreements signed last year in Moscow by the heads of state of the two countries.
In this context, Nguema Obiang Mangue indicated that, taking into account that the two countries cooperate in different sectors, the members of the Executive of SS.EE. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and Vladimir Putin will work together to materialize cooperation for mutual benefit.
