H.E. Nguema Obiang Mangue has instructed the installation of surveillance cameras in courts and ministries to fight against unseemly and illicit acts.
The Executive makes this decision as a result of the sexual videos that have gone viral on social networks in recent days, which denigrate the image of the country.
And in order to correct this bad behaviour on the part of some officials of the public and judicial administration of Equatorial Guinea, Vice-President of the Republic concerned about this situation has urgently summoned the President of the Supreme Court of Justice, Attorney General of the Republic and several members of the Government headed by the Prime Minister to adopt strategies to curb this type of behaviour and thus propose preventive measures.
Among the decisions taken are the suspension of employment of officials who appear in the home videos for adults that circulate on the networks, severe measures for members assigned to the surveillance of prisoners for not fulfilling their duties and allowing such acts, as well as the reinforcement of security in all judicial offices in the country; in addition to the installation of surveillance cameras in judicial and ministerial offices.
For Nguema Obiang Mangue, both officials of the judicial administration and the public service are subject to the laws that govern their respective institutions, therefore they must work with ethics and professional deontology. In this context, the Vice-President of the Council of Ministers has stressed that it is unacceptable for some citizens to denigrate the image of the country through unseemly and illegal behaviour.
And to put an end to this type of action, the Vice-President of the Republic has recommended, on the one hand, to open an investigation to clarify the facts, and on the other, to take measures to punish the offenders in order to ensure the honour, good reputation and dignity of people.
