Turkish construction giant SUMMA is racing ahead on Uganda’s second national stadium in Hoima City, showcasing remarkable progress.
During a third project inspection, National Council of Sports (NCS) officials and Ministry of Works consultants praised the rapid advancements. NCS Assistant General Secretary Joseph Oluga and Engineering Officer Nicholas Zirimenya expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace.

SUMMA, entrusted with delivering the $129 million multi-sports complex within an 18-month timeframe, is now projected to complete the project earlier than anticipated. Sources close to the project reveal that roofing of the stadium is expected to be finalized by March.

The state-of-the-art facility will feature a 20,000-seater main stadium, a 2,000-seater indoor multi-sports arena, a semi-Olympic swimming pool, a training pitch, outdoor courts for basketball, netball, and volleyball, as well as parking for over 1,000 vehicles. Several sections of the complex are already taking shape.

Hoima City is among Uganda’s selected host cities for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. This accelerated development positions the city to meet international standards and showcase continental football’s pinnacle event.
