At the heart of Next Media Park stands a growing testament to hope and action—the Tree Garden. What began as a simple idea has blossomed into a powerful reminder of our commitment to the environment.

This special space has welcomed the hands of remarkable individuals who have left their mark by planting trees, including Uganda’s Vice President Hon. Maj. (Rtd) Jessica Alupo, King of Tooro His Majesty Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, international music icon Ali Campbell of UB40, and Rotary International President Stephanie Urchick.

Far from being just a decorative element, the garden embodies next media’s drive to reforest Uganda and champion sustainability through their ‘Taasa Obutonde and 15 Million Trees campaigns’. These initiatives are deeply tied to our early work under the TuveKukaveera campaign, which advocated for reducing single-use plastics and promoting recycling.

Shafik Nekambuza, Next Media’s Head of Brands and Sustainability, captured the essence of the initiative perfectly: “Planting a tree at Next Media Park symbolizes commitment to a sustainable future. Together, we’re growing a greener tomorrow.”

‘Through the Tree Garden, we align our actions with SDG 13: Climate Action, taking real steps to inspire change. Every tree planted here is a story of resilience and a call to action for all Ugandans to care for our planet. This is more than an environmental initiative—it’s a legacy” .
