At the third-anniversary coronation of the Baise Matende Clan Leader in Luuka district, NRM National Treasurer Amb. Barbara Nekesa urged Ugandan youth to join the ruling party.
She emphasized that ”NRM is the key to long-term stability and prosperity for all citizens not just the older generation”.
Nekesa warned against the manipulation of youth into thinking the party excludes them. She highlighted that NRM welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds. The message aimed to inspire young people to play an active role in shaping the nation’s future through the party.
“I have served in many capacities as an MP, Minister, Ambassador and National Treasurer yet in my youthful age. This is a testimony that the ruling NRM offers everyone an opportunity to flourish,” Nekesa said.
Mrs Nekesa commended the people for engaging in production as she discouraged the bad practice of land fragmentation among family members.
“It is wrong to divide family land into small pieces because the practice discourages meaningful production to the family members hence leading to poverty,” Nekesa said.
She appreciated the locals for supporting President Museveni and his party for many years. “I appeal to you to give him overwhelming support in the next election,” she added.
The National Treasurer assured the clan leader to fast track his requests made to President Yoweri Museveni.
Nekesa made a contribution of 5 million and 2 million towards the development of the Clan and the community church respectively.
