National Sports (Amendment) Bill,2024 is to align the provisions of the National Sports Act, Cap. 151 relating to Anti-doping with the World Anti-Doping Code and to provide for related matters.
The National Sports (Amendment) Bill, 2024 is designed to address the gaps in the National Sports Act, Cap. 151 relating to anti-doping.
Uganda ratified the UNESCO International Convention against Doping in Sport on 30th May 2007, however, the provisions in the National Sports Act relating to anti-doping are not aligned with the World Anti-Doping Code. Uganda will be banned from participating in international sports competitions if the National Sports Act is not aligned with the World Anti-Doping Code
