Following the outburst of the Nyamwamba River, an initial assessment has mapped the affected villages, which include Kitoro Cell, Acholi quarters, Mumbuzi, Base Camp Lower, Kizungu, Nyakasanga West, Kisanga A, Kisanga B, Salute A, Salute B, Kamulikwizi, Kikonzo, and Kisagazi.
Tragically, two bodies have been recovered since the floodwaters surged. The first was a female nurse who, while returning from work, stopped to take photos and videos of the rushing water but was swept away.
The second was a male adult who approached the riverbank to observe the rising water when the ground beneath him collapsed. Sadly, neither survived.
