Yesterday, the Speaker of parliament Annet Anita Among together with her Deputy Speaker Rt Hon. Thomas Tayebwa the national organizing committee and technical staff, had a guided tour of Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort to assess progress of the ongoing construction works in preparation for the CSPOC, NAM and G77 conferences due next year.
Their visit was prompted by concerns related to the upcoming Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth, the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), and the G77 conferences scheduled to take place here next year.

With time running out for the country to ensure that preparations are completed for these significant events, various leaders are focusing on Munyonyo as it represents the nation’s primary hope for successfully hosting these three conferences.

Speaking from the construction site, Among expressed confidence that the work will be finished on schedule.

“I am confident that the premises will provide an excellent setting for successful and impactful events. Uganda stands ready to host the delegates, showcasing our commitment to fostering international dialogue and collaboration.”
