In a session with the media at State House, Entebbe, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni addressed various issues and conveyed a heartfelt message to the people of Uganda as we approach the festive season. As we near the end of 2023, I want to extend my congratulations to everyone for the journey we’ve shared this year.
It’s a time to reflect and be grateful for how far we’ve come. Let’s collectively praise God for His guidance and blessings.

During museveni’s interaction with the media, he highlighted four crucial points. Firstly, I underscored the resilience of Uganda in the face of external pressures particularly concerning the Anti-Homosexuality Act.

As a nation with a rich history spanning over 1000 years, we’ve proven our ability to stand on our own, with thriving communities and a robust economy. Museveni urged those exerting pressure to reconsider recognizing our capacity for self-reliance.

Secondly, Museveni called upon all Ugandans to remain vigilant in the fight against terrorism, especially during this festive season. I expressed gratitude to H.E Felix Tshisekedi for allowing us to pursue ADF in Congo with notable success in our efforts. While determined to eradicate these groups, museveni emphasized the importance of staying alert and cooperative as a nation.

The third point centered on the four-acre farming model, stressing the significance of wealth creation through commercial agriculture. Encouraging all Ugandans to embrace this model, I highlighted its potential to drive economic prosperity at the individual and community levels.
Addressing the pervasive issue of corruption was my fourth point. Museveni acknowledged that corrupt individuals constitute a minority, yet their actions disproportionately affect the majority. I called for unity in the fight against corruption, emphasizing its detrimental impact on our progress and the waste of valuable time.

Finally, Museveni emphasized the imperative of regional integration, urging increased connectivity and a demonstration of the mutual benefits of integration to our fellow East Africans. It’s time for collective efforts to support regional integration, paving the way for a prosperous and interconnected future.
