President Yoweri Museveni has urged citizens to remain vigilant following suspected bomb incidents in Kampala, linking them to the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels.
The President emphasized the need for heightened security measures in public spaces, instructing individuals in churches, markets, mosques, and bars to stay alert and report any suspicious activity.

Museveni, addressing the nation via his official X-handle, implicated the ADF in collaboration with individuals within Uganda, attempting to plant bombs in Kikuba-Mutwe, Kabalagala area, and Nabweru 2 cell.
The police, supported by sister security agencies, have cordoned off the Kabalagala area to facilitate a thorough investigation.

The first explosion occurred around 10 PM in Kabalagala, with Moses Musoga, the Local One Chairperson, confirming the incident.
Subsequently, the Police bomb squad responded to another suspected bomb in Nabweru, Wakiso district, resulting in a building collapse.
Locals attributed the incidents to landlords and property brokers renting houses to unidentified persons.
Nansana Resident District Commissioner Shafik Ali Nsubuga assured that efforts are underway, collaboratively with security agencies, to identify those responsible for these criminal acts.
Major Charles Kaboona, UPDF 1st Division Spokesperson, reported no casualties or serious injuries, emphasizing that investigations are ongoing.
Maj Charles Kaboona also conveyed President Museveni’s renewed call for vigilance, cautioning that the ADF is resorting to desperate measures, sending small groups of infiltrators reminiscent of the Njovu group that targeted tourists.
Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Spokesperson Luke Oweyesigyire confirmed an active pursuit of the suspected criminals, assuring the public that law enforcement is dedicated to bringing them to justice.
These incidents coincide with the UPDF’s ongoing pursuit of ADF in the Democratic Republic of Congo, in collaboration with the Congolese army.
