President Museveni Welcomes Ethiopian Military Delegation In Diplomatic Visit

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni warmly welcomed Field Marshal Birhanu Jula, Ethiopia’s Chief of General Staff, at State House Entebbe today. Joined by Gen. Muhoozi Kaneirugaba, UPDF’s Chief of Defence Forces, and Ethiopian Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Etsegenet Bezabih.

President Museveni and Ethiopian Military Delegation deliberated on Uganda’s socio-economic transformation strategies under the NRM government. Reflecting on Uganda’s challenges, President Museveni highlighted past strategic errors by previous administrations.

“They were philosophical, ideological, and strategic mistakes,” he said. 

President Museveni assured his guests that the government had taken strategic steps to rectify these mistakes and emphasised the current focus on enhancing wealth creation initiatives at the grassroots level to alleviate poverty among the population.

Additional members of the Ethiopian National Defence Forces delegation included Major General Teshome Gemechu and Lieutenant Colonel Aklilu Eliya Chakiso.
