As National Resistance Movement (NRM) is preparing for the final phase of its membership register update on Wednesday, January 29th. On Monday, party officials began distributing register materials from 151 electoral districts to villages nationwide.
As the NRM prepares to go to the final phase of the membership register display and update on Wednesday 29th this week, officials of the party today Monday started dispatching register materials from the 151 NRM electoral districts to all the villages across the country.

The NRM Deputy Secretary General Rt. Hon. Rose Namayanja who is in charge of the Kampala metropolitan area flagged off the materials including register books at Wakiso district headquarters to all villages in Wakiso.

Namayanja urged the registrars of Wakiso who had gathered for final briefing to ensure that all the villages receive the registration kits by Wednesday to avoid inconveniences.
“We put the kits in your hands and ask you to take full charge of the security,” Namayanja said.
She cautioned the registrars against any form of corruption or yielding to manipulations of some politicians who may want to interfere with the register.
“We shall arrest anybody who connives with politicians to tempers with the register like including supporters of the opposition with intention of jeopardizing upcoming primary elections,” she stated.
The deputy Secretary General also urged registrars to persuade the youth from 16 years to register and be members of the mass party.
“We need young people to join the NRM. This is the only way we shall remain strong and dominant like other revolutionary political parties like African National Congress (ANC) in South Africa and Chama Cha Mapinduzi in Tanzania,” Namayanja.
The exercise was witnessed by the Wakiso distrct Chairman, Abdul Kiyemba and Wakiso Resident District Commissioner Justine Mbabazi and District Executive Committee (DEC) members.
