Goldstar Insurance Company Limited has officially launched its ground-breaking mobile application, the Goldstar Insurance Claims App during a media briefing held today, July 23, 2025, at Speke Apartments in Wampewo, Kampala.
The innovative platform is set to redefine how motor insurance and other claims are reported, processed, and paid in Uganda, with promises of transparency, speed, and efficiency at its core.

The app, now available on both Google Play Store and Apple iOS, allows clients to report motor accidents, fire out breaks, in real time using GPS technology, capture visual evidence instantly, and submit claims online without the usual paperwork bottlenecks.

According to Goldstar Insurance, this digital transformation is designed to ease claim processes, boost service delivery, and ultimately empower clients to take control of their insurance experience.
Speaking during the launch, Mr. John Kawuma, the CEO of Goldstar Insurance, described the app as a game changer for both the insurance sector and clients navigating accident scenarios. ”This app is going to revolutionize how we handle insurance claims — whether it’s a damaged vehicle, property, or injured persons. Our customers can now report incidents instantly, and we can initiate interventions immediately,” Kawuma said.
”In a time where speed and reliability matter most, Goldstar Insurance is setting the standard for the future of insurance in Uganda and Africa.” he added.

Jay Sakaria, the Chief Actuary at Goldstar Insurance, emphasized the importance of digitization in modernizing insurance claims management.
”By digitizing the claims process, we are improving accountability, transparency, and efficiency. The app allows us to receive real-time evidence, reducing the risk of fraud and enabling faster resolution, with most valid claims processed in the shortest time possible. ”It’s a major step toward smarter insurance management.”

The Goldstar Insurance Claims App enables clients to upload photos, videos, and location data from accident scenes. It also helps monitor accident-prone areas, track drivers through GPS, and determine whether emergency intervention is needed, all within minutes of a report being filed. The platform is not only user-friendly but also time-saving, helping clients avoid lengthy, paper-based processes that could delay assistance and compensation when its needed the most.

According to Goldstar Insurance company limited, over 100 users have actively engaged with the app since its soft launch two months ago. With Uganda’s roads experiencing a growing number of motor accidents, the ability to capture data on the go is expected to dramatically improve how claims are verified, processed, and paid.
The company further revealed that while the app speeds up reporting, all submissions are still subject to thorough verification and validation by the insurance team to prevent false reporting and abuse.

As Goldstar Insurance approaches its 30th anniversary next year, this latest innovation reflects its broader commitment to evolving with customer needs.
“All one needs to get started is a policy number, a valid driving license, a phone number, and internet access and even without internet, information can still be captured and will be received once internet is on” Kawuma noted.

“Besides the app, clients can also access support via our website, and for those who prefer the traditional way, the existing claims processes are still in place. The app is simply our way of making insurance smarter, faster, and more accessible wherever our clients are”.
