Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs and head of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) at Kyambogo, emerged the biggest winner at the prestigious Halal Islamic Brunch, taking home two major accolades: Outstanding Political Leadership and Women Empowerment and Community Welfare.

Organized by Biggie Events, the awards ceremony held today at 4 Points By Sheraton in Kampala, brought together a cross section of figures in Uganda’s Muslim community to honour individuals making significant contributions to the growth and empowerment of the Islamic faith and society at large.

In her acceptance speech, Hajjat Hadijah urged the youth, especially young Muslim women, to make thoughtful decisions about their futures, warning against impulsive choices that could derail their careers or personal development.

“Let us not rush into decisions that may cost us years of progress. As Muslim women, we must embrace patience, resilience, and purpose,” she said.

Her double win was celebrated at the event, with many attendees, especially Muslim preachers, praising her visible efforts in mobilizing communities, supporting economic empowerment programs, and representing Muslim women in high-level political and civic platforms.
Other award recipients included renowned businessman Hajj Hamis Kiggundu, who was recognized for his entrepreneurship and philanthropic efforts; Top City Lawyer Ssebuufu Usaama, celebrated for his work in the legal fraternity; and Hajjat Shania Kigozi, honoured for her charity work especially helping orphans.
