Kampala city has welcomed a remarkable landmark with the unveiling of RR Pearl Tower One, a 25-storey Grade A office block spearheaded by billionaire entrepreneur Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia. Strategically positioned along Yusuf Lule Road, the tower marks the opening phase of the Pearl Business Park, an ambitious development poised to redefine Uganda’s central business district into a modern hub for trade and enterprise.
The new high-rise offers world-class office spaces, conference facilities, and premium amenities, carefully tailored to attract both domestic firms and multinational corporations. Yet beyond its impressive design and commercial allure, the project carries deep emotional resonance for the Ruparelia family.
The initials “RR” honor Rajiv Ruparelia, Sudhir’s late son, whose untimely passing in a car accident on May 3, 2025, left a profound void. Rajiv, remembered for his energy and innovative spirit, had played a key role in the family’s expansive ventures spanning real estate, hospitality, and philanthropy.
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Ruparelia described the tower as “a symbol of memory and hope.” In a touching gesture, Rajiv’s mother, Jyotsna Ruparelia, lit a candle before unveiling the commemorative plaque, underscoring the family’s enduring connection to the project.
To close friends and associates, the building is seen as a living tribute to Rajiv’s vision. Admired as “the modern face of the Ruparelia Empire,” he was widely regarded as a dynamic young leader destined to push Uganda’s business sector into new frontiers before his tragic passing.
