East Africa’s renowned entrepreneur, Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, has introduced a newly constructed barge that will handle the transportation of goods, supplies, and logistics to his exclusive Paradise Resort on Lake Victoria.

More than a simple utility vessel, the barge represents a forward-looking investment to secure uninterrupted access to the resort, which is accessible only by water. Built with a flat-bottom design and high load capacity, it is equipped to carry everything from food and fuel to construction materials and luxury imports.

Opened in late 2025, Paradise Resort has quickly risen to prominence as one of Uganda’s top-tier tourist destinations. Set on a private stretch of Lake Victoria, it features overwater villas, infinity pools, tropical gardens, and sustainable landscaping—placing it in league with world-class retreats in the Maldives and Mauritius.

Dr. Ruparelia noted that the new vessel will be central to the resort’s operations, ensuring a steady flow of supplies and elevating guest experiences.

“This vessel is not just a carrier of goods—it is a conduit of prosperity, linking our Paradise with the mainland, sustaining livelihoods, and fortifying Uganda’s place on the global tourism map,” he said in a statement.

The project also carries deep personal meaning for the Ruparelia family. Paradise Resort was inspired by the late Rajiv Ruparelia, whose vision for advancing Uganda’s hospitality industry laid the groundwork for the development.

The launch of the barge is therefore regarded not only as a logistical milestone but also as a tribute to Rajiv’s enduring legacy. With this addition, Paradise Resort is poised to strengthen its standing as Uganda’s leading luxury destination, attracting global attention and setting new standards for regional tourism.
