The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) is set to unveil its 2026–2031 manifesto this Monday, September 29, at Speke Resort Munyonyo. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the party’s presidential flag bearer, will preside over the ceremony as the chief guest.
This launch comes shortly after his official nomination as NRM’s candidate for the 2026 general elections, formally kickstarting the party’s campaign roadmap.

At the Munyonyo event, President Museveni—who is seeking another term in office that would extend his leadership to 45 years—is expected to highlight the new manifesto under the theme “Protecting the Gains.”
During his nomination rally at Kololo Independence Grounds last week, the 81-year-old leader gave a glimpse of the priorities in the five-year plan, centered on six commitments: strengthening peace and security, accelerating wealth and job creation, expanding infrastructure, transforming social services like education and healthcare, intensifying the fight against corruption, and boosting regional and international cooperation to drive investment and trade.
He told supporters that the manifesto embodies both continuity and fresh direction, saying it seeks to safeguard progress made under NRM while addressing the country’s evolving challenges.
“We are moving forward to secure the future of our people. The mission is clear: defend peace, create wealth, and deliver prosperity for every Ugandan household,” Museveni declared.
Party officials note that today’s event will bring together Cabinet ministers, Members of Parliament, district leaders, and representatives from key sectors. It will also be broadcast on television and digital platforms to mobilize support across the country.
Following the manifesto launch, President Museveni is expected to officially open his 2026 campaign with a mega rally at Bukalasa playgrounds in Luweero District.
