Hon. Kasolo, who previously represented Kyotera County for two consecutive terms (2011–2016 and 2016–2021), was successfully nominated on Wednesday, October 22, as the NRM flag bearer for the 2026 Parliamentary race. His homecoming rally turned the entire Kyotera town yellow, with supporters pouring in from Kakuuto, Kyebe, Kasasa, Kibanda, Kifamba, Kasaali, Lwankoni, Kabira, and Kirumba sub-counties.

The Minister arrived in grand style, leading a spirited procession through Kyotera streets accompanied by musician Patrick Mulwana, alias Alien Skin, whose performance energized the jubilant crowds. The grounds erupted into cheers as Kasolo waved to supporters, promising to restore Kyotera’s development momentum.

Kyotera Vice NRM Chairperson Enos Mugisha, who is heading Hon. Kasolo’s campaign team, assured the Minister that victory was within reach, saying, “Kyotera has seen Kasolo’s work before, and the people are ready to return him to Parliament.”

Addressing the crowd, Hon. Kasolo thanked his supporters for their resilience and faith in his leadership.
“You stood with me through the storm, and now we are back to reclaim what belongs to the people. Kyotera deserves progress, not politics of noise,” he said to thunderous applause.
He criticized the opposition for neglecting development priorities, citing stalled projects that he initiated during his previous term — including rural electrification, water systems, skilling hubs, SACCOs, and coffee initiatives.
“When I left office, I had left poles, pipes, and programs ready. I’m back to complete that work — starting with giving coffee seedlings to every household,” he pledged.
The Minister also expressed concern over the growing piles of garbage in Kyotera Town, revealing that he had already procured an interim truck to support immediate waste collection as local councils organize a long-term solution.
Kasolo further condemned hooliganism among youth, referencing a near-violent encounter earlier in the day when rival supporters allegedly tried to block his procession along Kalisizo–Masaka Road.
“We must reject violence. Elections are not a do-or-die affair. Let’s compete in peace and respect each other regardless of political sides,” he cautioned.
The Minister took a moment to thank his mother and wife, introducing them to the crowd as the pillars behind his success — a gesture that drew loud cheers from the energized supporters.
At the sidelines, many residents described Kasolo as “an action-oriented leader” who always delivered tangible results. “Kasolo may be tough, but he works for us. We saw roads, electricity, and SACCO support under him. We need that energy back,” said a resident from Kasaali.
The day ended in celebration, featuring musical performances from Alien Skin, Haruna Mubiru, and several local artists. Campaigns for all parliamentary and local government candidates are officially set to begin on November 10, running until 48 hours before the January 15, 2026, General Elections.
