CDF Muhoozi Kainerugaba Hails Uganda’s Strong Ties With Egypt

Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, met with Gen Mohamed Ashraf from Egypt’s General Intelligence Service at the Special Forces Command Headquarters in Entebbe.

During the meeting, Gen Kainerugaba praised Uganda’s robust relationship with Egypt, highlighting their shared commitment to regional stability and development.

The CDF, who is also the Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations, emphasised the importance of continued cooperation in addressing common regional threats.

Uganda and Egypt have made significant strides in recent months, particularly in the areas of vaccination and disease control. Between May and December, Uganda received 10 million doses of foot-and-mouth disease vaccines from Egypt, as well as equipment to enable local vaccine production.

Gen Ashraf himself delivered Hepatitis C drugs sufficient to treat 500 patients.

Gen Kainerugaba commended the leaders of both nations, President Yoweri Museveni and President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, for their vision and leadership in fostering the growing relationship between Uganda and Egypt.

The meeting was also attended by Maj Gen BD Mugisha, Commander of the Special Forces Command.
