Major General Jack Bakasumba, Chief of Joint Staff, welcomed Colonel Zhang Hao, the first Chinese Military Advisor to Uganda at the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs in Mbuya.
Colonel Zhang praised the longstanding ties between Uganda and China which began with the National Resistance Army and now continue with the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces. He highlighted China’s crucial role in Uganda’s economic growth, especially within the Defence Industry.
The meeting underscored the enduring friendship and cooperation between the two nations. Both leaders expressed commitment to furthering their countries’ strategic partnership. The visit marked a significant step in strengthening military and economic collaborations.
The Chinese Defence Advisor expressed commitment to enhancing the existing bilateral relations and military cooperation in various areas.
Accompanying Col Zhang Hao was Mr. Song Jinpeng, a Staff from the Chinese Embassy.
