Prominent businessman and Honorary Consul of Nepal to Uganda, Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, has embraced the country’s new digital vehicle registration system, becoming one of the first dignitaries to acquire a high-tech number plate for his official diplomatic car.

Introduced under the Intelligent Transport Monitoring System (ITMS) initiative by the Ministry of Works and Transport, in collaboration with Joint Stock Company Global Security, the new digital number plates aim to boost national security, combat vehicle theft, and enhance traffic surveillance through real-time tracking technology.

As an honorary consul, Dr. Sudhir’s vehicle also features the “CC” (Corps Consulaire) mark, denoting his diplomatic standing as Nepal’s representative in Uganda. The distinctive plate not only highlights his diplomatic role but also reflects his status as one of Uganda’s most influential entrepreneurs committed to modernization and compliance with national reforms.

According to sources within the Ruparelia Group, the digital registration process for the vehicle was finalized earlier this week, in accordance with the government’s directive requiring all motorists to transition to smart plates.
Frequently used for official consular engagements, the Lexus embodies both sophistication and innovation — blending luxury with Uganda’s vision for a secure, technology-driven transport system.
By adopting the new digital plate, Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia joins a growing number of diplomats, government officials, and corporate leaders aligning with Uganda’s latest technological advancement — a move that underscores his leadership, adaptability, and forward-looking approach in both business and diplomacy.
