Home Kindergarten and Primary School Najeera today crowned the end of the term with a vibrant Sports Day celebration at Kira Playgrounds that brought together parents, teachers, and pupils for a day of co-curricular excellence. The event featured an array of activities including football, netball, athletics, volleyball, and spectacular band and parade performances.
The school’s director, Mr. Edson Kisakye, applauded the pupils for their spirited participation and thanked parents for turning up in large numbers and braving heavy rains to celebrate the day.

“We have a population of over 500 students, and today’s event marks the end of the term. We are grateful to all parents who honoured our invitation. As children go for the holiday, I encourage you to keep them safe, engage them in daily home activities, and guide them in completing their holiday packages,” he advised the parents and guardians.
He noted that the pupils had trained tirelessly to deliver their impressive performances and expressed satisfaction that no major challenges were faced during preparations and encouraged them to keep up the spirit.
The occasion was graced by a team from the Pan-African Pyramid, who represented the organisation’s Founding Speaker and Chairman, Mr. Andrew Irumba who was invited as the guest of honour. In his speech, Mr. Irumba hailed the school for nurturing not just academic excellence but also character, discipline, and leadership potential.
“It is with great honour and humility that I stand before you today. The future of any nation is built in the classrooms of today. You, the pupils of this school, are not just students—you are future leaders, innovators, and defenders of Africa’s heritage.” Read part of Irumba’s speech which was delivered by Ms Kobusiinge Monica, the Office Administrator for the Pan-African Pyramid.
He emphasised the importance of education rooted in self-worth, cultural pride, and critical thinking, describing it as the key to Africa’s liberation from dependency.
Irumba called on teachers to continue their dedication, describing them as “frontline soldiers” in shaping young minds, and urged parents to remember that the values taught at home—honesty, hard work, and respect—remain with children longer than any textbook knowledge.
Irumba further challenged pupils to be proud of their culture, speak their native languages with pride, and reject the idea that abandoning their African identity is necessary for success.
