The Judicial Service Commission (JSC), acting in accordance with Article 148 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, has appointed a cross-section of Judicial Officers at the Lower Bench in a strategic move aimed at strengthening the capacity and efficiency of the courts.
Exercising its mandate to recruit Staff of the Judiciary, the Commission has appointed five (05) Deputy Registrars, six (06) Chief Magistrates, and seven (07) Magistrates Grade I.

These appointments reaffirm the Commission’s and the Judiciary’s commitment to human resource enhancement as a key driver of improved access to justice, expedited case disposal, and strengthened service delivery across the country.

Commenting on the development, the Chief Justice, Hon. Justice Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny – Dollo, welcomed the new appointments and noted that the additions will significantly enhance access to justice for the people of Uganda.
Owiny – Dollo emphasized that the expansion of the judicial workforce is a crucial step towards achieving the Judiciary’s core mission of ensuring timely, efficient, and people-centered justice. The Acting Chief Registrar, HW Lamunu Pamella Ocaya, welcomed the appointments, noting that they will expand court coverage, take judicial services closer to the people, and fill critical staffing gaps within the Judiciary Service.

Pamella Ocaya reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to ensuring that newly appointed officers are deployed to areas where their impact will be most immediate and transformative. Below is the complete list of appointments;
