Koboko Chief Magistrates Court has convicted and sentenced John Taban Moro, a Parish Chief, to six months in prison after he pleaded guilty to the charge of Theft of Parish Development Model (PDM) funds.
He was also ordered to refund the money, which he did. The court also issued a warning to all civil servants about the consequences of stealing money intended for poverty eradication programs.

The accused was arrested and arraigned by Anti Corruption Unit – State House Uganda along with Criminal Investigations Directorate of the Uganda Police Force and Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions after they gathered conclusive evidence in Leku Parish, Drania Subcounty, Koboko District, that the accused had stolen millions of shillings meant for PDM and made unauthorized payments to his family members, including his father, brothers, and sister-in-law.
This action was in direct violation of the PDM guidelines, which prohibit civil servants and family members from the same household from benefiting from PDM funds.
