The wife of the President of the Republic, First Lady, Gueta Chapo, will lead the central ceremony for the official launch of Women’s Month at the Joaquim Chissano International Conference Centre in Maputo this Friday.
The event includes sociocultural activities, with an emphasis on lectures and debates to raise awareness in society about the promotion of women’s rights, with a view to eradicating violence and other evils that plague this social stratum.
Women’s Month marks the celebration of March 4, Women’s Detachment Day, March 8, International Women’s Day and April 7, Mozambican Women’s Day, which this year will be celebrated under the motto “50 Years Empowering Women, Building Gender Equality”.
The central launch ceremony for Women’s Month will be attended by members of the Government, civil society and partners working to promote the rights of women and girls.
