Rwanda and Morocco have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation, following the signing of a defence partnership agreement earlier this year.
The discussions took place on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, during a four-day working visit by a Rwandan military delegation led by Major General Vincent Nyakarundi, Army Chief of Staff, to the Kingdom of Morocco.

The delegation was received by Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces, at the military headquarters in Rabat.

According to a statement by Rwanda’s Ministry of Defence, the meeting focused on ways to strengthen the existing partnership between the two nations, particularly in the wake of their recently signed military cooperation agreement.
“Following the discussions, both sides held a meeting to explore cooperation in military education and training, as well as the role of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) in peacekeeping and regional security efforts,” the ministry said in a post on X.
Rwanda and Morocco signed a military cooperation agreement on June 18, 2025, during an official visit to Morocco by Rwanda’s Minister of Defence, Juvenal Marizamunda.
The agreement marked a significant milestone in bilateral relations, laying the groundwork for broader collaboration that extends beyond defence to include other strategic sectors.
Officials from both countries have described the partnership as a model for strengthening security cooperation and regional stability through training, knowledge exchange, and joint initiatives.
