National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong, was pleased to officially receive Lawrence Alionzi, former Guild President, Makerere University, on the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket to the ruling party.
Alionzi was accompanied by a section of other youth leaders who crossed into the NRM, citing a lack of clear ideology and strategic leadership skills from the opposition to steer the country forward.
SG Todwong said he was excited to see young people joining the movement.
”It is very humbling to see young and educated people join the NRM. The movement is not something to joke about, but it is permanent. It began with our grandfathers, moved to us, and it is time for us to pass it on to you, our children,” Todwong said.
The Director of Finance and Administration, Hajjat Medina Naham, was also present at the meeting.
