Speaker of Parliament Anita Among met with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV in Vatican City, Rome in the morning.
The meeting came after a Mass celebrated by the Holy Father, during which prayers were offered for peace, unity, and love among nations.
Among’s audience with the new pontiff builds on her history of high-level Vatican engagements.
She twice met the late Pope Francis and attended his burial earlier this year, underscoring her active ties with the Catholic Church’s global leadership.
Later today, the Speaker is scheduled to meet the Vatican’s Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, to discuss matters of mutual interest.
