State House Anti-Corruption Unit in collaboration with the Criminal Investigations Directorate of the Uganda Police Force and Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, have arraigned Twinomujuni Nathan the Secretary, Uganda Liberal Teacher’s Union Members SACCO, before the Buganda Road Chief Magistrates Court on charges of obtaining money by false pretence and Conspiracy to defraud over UGX 1. 35 Billion.
He has been remanded until 03/09/2025 Twinomugisha joins other two co-accused; Mutesasira Evans Kaganizo, Chairperson, Uganda Liberal Teacher’s Union Members SACCO and Esiingwa Hassan Maganda, a business man and director, Hansem Technical Services Limited who misappropriated over UGX 3.6 Billion, part of UGX 20 Billion that was granted to Teachers’ SACCOs by H.E the President to improve their welfare.
Upon receipt of the money, the SACCO Chairperson together with Twinomujuni Nathan Kakson, the Secretary, embarked on various activities including purchase of land in Kiira Municipality at UGX 1.3 Billion, Purchase of unidentified 500 Acres of land at Kabwoya, Kyangwali in Kikuube district at UGX 2.75 Billion from Hansem Techinical Services and motor vehicles worth over UGX 250 Million.
An installment of UGX 1.35 Billion part of the UGX 2.75 Billion for the unidentified 500 Acres of land was paid on the account of Hassan Maganda on 16 December 2024.
