The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs from Saudi Arabia, H.E Eng. Waleed A. Elkhereiji, Cuba’s Vice President, H.E Salvador Valdés Mesa and the Prime Minister of Tanzania, Hon. Kassim Majaliwa, are currently in Uganda to participate in the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and G77+China summits.
The NAM summit, held at Speke Resort Munyonyo, commenced on January 15, 2024, and is scheduled to conclude on January 20, 2024. Following this, the G77+China summit is set to take place on January 21-22, 2024, at the same venue.
H.E Elkhereiji arrived in the country on January 17, 2024, and was warmly welcomed at Entebbe International Airport by H.E. Jamal Al-Madani, the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Uganda.
H.E. Mesa touched down in Uganda this morning and received a gracious welcome at Entebbe International Airport from the Minister for Presidency, Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda, and Ms. Lucy Nakyobe Mbonye, the Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet.
Simultaneously, Hon. Majaliwa arrived in Uganda today and was greeted at Entebbe International Airport by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in charge of Regional Affairs, Hon. John Mulimba, and Col. (Rtd). Fred Mwesigye, Uganda’s High Commissioner to Tanzania.
