The head of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), SPA/PA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye aka Chief Muzzukulu has implored successful graduands of Excel Vocational Training Institute in Bombo-Kalule to use their acquired knowledge and skills to create jobs further tasking them to avoid politicians who target to use them and later dump them.
Hajjat Namyalo made the comments while presiding over as Chief Guest during the Institution’s 12th Graduation Ceremony on Friday, February 23, 2024 further assuring the graduands that the ONC, under her leadership is dedicated to equipping graduating youths with skills. This commitment is demonstrated through various initiatives endorsed by President Museveni, aimed at providing them with tools for wealth creation.
“Please utilize the talent and skills you’ve garnered to create a difference in the communities you live in. As Office of the National Chairman, we will continue to give our start up Capital items to kickstart your journey to prosperity,” Namyalo said amid celebrations from the parents and graduands
In a special way, Hajjat Namyalo expressed appreciation for the outstanding efforts of Mr. Mwanje Shafiq, the Director of Excel Vocational Institute in promoting self-empowerment by providing vocational skills to youths whose impact is so crucial for Uganda’s economic development.

Additionally, Hajjat Namyalo encouraged graduates and youths nationwide to take advantage of government initiatives like Emyooga and PDM championed by President Museveni aimed at alleviating poverty in households further emphasizing the potential starting point for the youths as the PDM program which provides access to government funds.
She also announced her intention to contribute self-empowerment tools and equipment to support wealth creation to the youths in the area especially graduates with hands on skills.
During the vibrant graduation ceremony at the Institute, 1172 students received Diplomas and Certificates in various vocational and business disciplines.
In a special report, the management highlighted the success of Excel Vocational School, noting a remarkable 97% passing rate in the assessment conducted between 2022-2023. Excel Vocational School registered a total of 1150 students for assessment of which 1120 passed successfully, 18 did not sit and only 12 candidates were unsuccessful in their attempt.
The report also brought attention to the financial challenges faced by the institution, hindering their ability to accommodate the increasing number of financially disadvantaged students and the need for more computers to teach essential digital skills.
The Management however decried the challenge not having inadequate funds to cater for the ever increasing number of needy students who have the passion to train and learn but cannot afford the tuition requirements. In addition to this, he also highlighted the gap of not having enough computers to train learners with the digital skills which are a must according to the technical curriculum.
Mr Mwanje, the Director, therefore appealed to the government, donor communities, NGOs and well-wishers to step in a hand and extend support in whichever form to address these challenges.
He however extended special gratitude to the Office of the National Chairman – NRM Head, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, the NRM Government, the Luwero District LG, the teaching staff, students and parents for the cooperation towards the success the institute has reached at on this great milestone.
Others at the event included a section of Bazzukulu and ONC Regional Coordinators, Designated officials from the local government, among others.
Excel Vocational Training Centre which started in 2006 has to-date passed out over 2000 trainees in both business and technical courses which include among others; Industrial Art and Design, Hotel and Institutional Catering, Hair dressing and Beauty, Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Bricklaying and Concrete Practice.
Other courses include; Electronics Repair, Electrical Installation, Welding and Metal Fabrication, Plumbing, Journalism, and Early Childhood Development.
