The Office of the National Chairman – NRM (ONC), under President Museveni’s leadership, has strongly criticized corrupt officials obstructing the execution of government initiatives aimed at reaching the rightful beneficiaries. They urge locals to speak up against individuals misusing their positions for personal gain.
This was revealed on Monday, March 4, 2024, by Mr. Matambala Vincent Kanakulya, the ONC Coordinator for Makindye Ssabagabo Municipality in Wakiso, during his visit to the area to monitor government programs.

Representing ONC Head, SPA/PA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, Mr. Kanakulya conducted a thorough assessment of PDM and Emyooga beneficiaries in the villages of Busabala ward.
While engaging with the community, Mr. Kanakulya highlighted the commendable leadership of Jajja Museveni, which has introduced effective measures to combat poverty. Despite positive feedback, he expressed dismay at corrupt individuals impeding residents’ access to PDM and Emyooga funds through unnecessary bureaucracy, slowing down project implementation and fostering corruption.

“It’s disheartening that corruption and bureaucratic hurdles are impeding service delivery in these projects. Communities have reported corruption as a significant obstacle to the progress of these initiatives,” noted Mr. Kanakulya.

He urged communities to report such instances of corruption and pledged to involve relevant stakeholders, including Anti-Graft bodies, to hold accountable those involved.
During the meetings, Mr. Kanakulya conveyed warm regards from SPA Namyalo to the Bazzukulu and announced Jajja’s intention to contest in the upcoming elections, seeking the community’s support.
In conclusion, Mr. Kanakulya urged communities to actively participate in the forthcoming NRM Register Update exercise by ensuring their membership registration and mobilizing others to do the same within their respective branches.
It’s noteworthy that President Museveni, through the NRM National Chairman (ONC), empowers regional and district coordinators to actively monitor government projects and programs, ensuring efficient utilization of taxpayers’ money. These initiatives include the implementation of the Parish Development Model (PDM), education projects, markets, and various socio-economic ventures established by the government.
