Yesterday, in a swift operation, Ugandan security forces apprehended two individuals of Congolese origin who were found to be in possession of AK-47 SMGs along with a cache of ammunition. The interception took place in Kyeshero, located within Kanungu district, by the vigilant UPDF 23rd battalion.
Upon interrogation, the suspects admitted to being affiliated with the notorious MAIMAI militia Group operating within the borders of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs, alongside the UPDF, reiterates its unwavering dedication to safeguarding Uganda’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against any threats or intrusions.
